Visitor Information

Visitor Information

At Tampa General Hospital, we understand that family members and friends are an important part of the healing process for our patients, and we welcome you to visit. We do not restrict, limit or otherwise deny visitation privileges on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or disability.

To promote healing and safety and limit infection, some units may limit the number of visitors you can receive at one time.

Visitor Guidelines

We encourage well-wishers for emotional support and recovery. To provide a restful and safe environment, we ask that visitors follow these guidelines:

  • Keep visits brief and quiet.
  • Do not visit if you have a cold, sore throat, fever or other illness.
  • Avoid noisy, disruptive behavior to help respect the healing of all patients.
  • Ask before bringing foods, drinks or items that might trigger allergies—like balloons, flowers or perfume—into patient rooms.
  • Wash your hands before entering a patient’s room.
  • Make sure all children have a supervising adult with them at all times.

Visitor Passes

Federal law requires visitors to enter the hospital using public entrances only. Visitors will be asked to wear identification, which will indicate the area of the hospital they will be visiting.
